So I know I've been a little heavy on the cats lately, but I just have to share this great pattern with you!
I was thrilled when Jenn (knitwisepurlwise on ravelry) contacted me about test knitting her new hat design. It was too cute to turn down and the perfect last minute gift to put under the tree for my kiddos. After all, there wasn't going to be anything hand knit from me under the tree if I didn't whip these up!
Here are my Are You Kitten Me? hats!
I'm sure you can think of some sweet little head you could top with one of these adorable hats. They work up so nice and fast, with no decreases, and the duplicate stitch for the ears is just the right finishing touch. The pattern is wonderfully written, nice and simple, and even great for a beginner.
I used Cascade 220 Superwash for the hats and some Malabrigo Worsted in Pale Khaki for the ears.
When the kids opened these up on Christmas morning, it was a nice reminder that our new little kitten, Chico, was an early Christmas gift to the whole family this year. He truly is a gift, keeps us all snuggling and laughing on a daily basis....he is either stealing the bed from our lab, forcing her to snuggle with him, or falling into the toilet. He's awesome and fits right into our crazy little world.
Hope you all had happy holidays! Wishing all my knitting friends wonderful things in 2014!
Stay tuned for my first patterns for the year in the next few days!
In the meantime, stay warm, friends, it's going to be so cold I can't even wrap my brain around it here! They are saying it will be the coldest air we have had since 1996! Wow! Bundle up!
